The ChaetoMax (kee-to-max) is a new LED light from Innovative Marine which is especially designed to fuel macroalgae growth in the aquarium. This small affordable aquarium light now uses a mixture of red and blue LEDs to have even faster growth of algae for nutrient export.
Most refugium lights in the past have been of the broad spectrum variety but building on research of PhotosyntheticallyUsableRadiation, also known as PUR, Innovative Marine has developed a much more efficient light for growing macroalgae. Just like their previous refugium light the ChaetoMax LED can be placed right on the walls of the refugium or it can also be mounted over a tank with a side-mounted arm.
