TheIVS Portalis an amazing new tool that doubles up as a toy. You may not have been able to fully appreciate the possibilities of magnifying your aquarium using the Portal viewer in the picture we posted last week. We stopped byOculus Aquaticsafter Reefapalooza and dropped the portal into their show tank so we could take a closer look at an amazingAcropora microclados“strawberry shortcake”. Hopefully this demonstration video of the Portal in action will give you an idea of how effective this aquarium magnifying tool can be. For the naysayers who think that a magnifying glass is just as good, well you have fun with that. Finally, we’ll be trying the Portal on some bowfront tanks very soon and we’ll let you know how it works on the curved glass aquarium.
