Most of the rare fish that the hobby fawns over are kind of wussy fish – pygmy angelfish, fairy wrasses, nano gobies and butterflyfish – even their names sound soft. So it is with great pleasure to learn that Blue Harbor recently acquired a manly rare fish, the blue and gold soapfish,Aulacocephalus temminckii。肥皂鱼是一种非常小的鳞片,它们在处理时会散发出有毒的肥皂粘液。
The Blue & Gold grouper is extremely widespread in the Indian and Pacific Ocean yet they are rarely seen in the aquarium hobby. That’s too bad because the Blue & Gold soapfish is beautiful at any size and since it’s a grouper, it will live through just about any adverse aquarium environment or meltdown. And it will eat all your precious pygmy angels, fairy wrasses and nano gobies.
