The last time we featured the Golden basslet,Liopropoma aberrans, we were dealing with the first excellent photo of a nice juvenile. Now thatBlue Harborhas scored a larger specimen they’ve wasted no time producing a new photo and some video of the adult. When it was first collected alive the golden basslet was being offered up for a five-figure price that would attract buyers with more money than sense, and we have no doubt that Blue Harbor’s large golden basslet is expensive, but at least this time we’re dealing with a more robust adult specimen. With its more complete mature yellow coloration we can actually see whyLiopropoma aberransis called the golden basslet, and it is highly reminiscent of the yellow and pink coloration of the largeLiopropoma aurorabasslet from Hawaii. The two videos of this deepwater Caribbean beauty embedded after the break.
