Although several fans of the show want a sequel, Disney has decided to bring Finding Nemo back to the big screen, this time in 3D. The release date is September 14, 2012. If you have kids, odds are they will know about the movie because of Disney’s massive marketing muscle. You parents will be dragged to the movie theatre where you’ll be able to buy over priced popcorn and sugary snacks.
When Finding Nemo was released back in 2003, immediately the saltwater aquatics industry was affected. Children wanted their own “nemo” fish and parents rushed out to the closest store to purchase the popular common clownfish in droves. While selling small table top aquariums, the movie made another important impact that sometimes is forgotten. Adults who wanted a slice of the ocean in their home talked to professional aquarium installation companies and purchased large setups, some of whom you’ve seen on Reef Builders. This trend caused a huge spike or interest in the aquarium hobby and grew the industry significantly.
