Salesforce founder and CEO Marc Benioff is investing in the ocean with a $10 million gift to back a new research effort spearheaded by the University of California, Santa Barbara. The so-called Benioff Ocean Initiative came about after the Salesforce CEO contacted marine biologist Douglas McCauley via email after reading one of his research papers, offering to help him gather more data. “Just as we have research hospitals seeking cures for devastating illnesses, we need a hospital to heal our oceans,” said Marc Benioff, in a statement.

A Philadelphia woman was struck in the head with a 5 pound catfish while walking in the park the other day. It appears a large bird dropped it and had, pretty good aim to hit the woman as she and a friend strolled through the park.
