Hanna Instruments has completed the reefkeeping set with the release of its Magnesium tester. Joining Alkalinity, Calcium,Nitrate和磷酸,汉娜用户现在可以使用汉na product to test the Magnesium levels in their reef tanks, from 1000-1800ppm.
For the uninitiated, Hanna handheld test kits use colorimeter technology to measure the transmittance of light through a liquid sample, clearly displaying the result on a digital display. This takes the guesswork out of referencing colors and shades on color charts, or counting drops like you would with astandard liquid testkit, and instead gives you a definitive number on the front of device, and much more peace of mind. They’re generally regarded as the most accurate aquarium tests (short of ICP,) too.
The model HI783 is specifically calibrated to measure Magnesium levels in saltwater, with the testing process being similar to theAlkalinity Checker, only with a second liquid reagent. It has a resolution of 5ppm and an accuracy of +/- 5%.
These latest testers have been hinted at in the trade for two years, but we were told byHanna’s president some 12 years agothat they were working on Magnesium and other checkers, so it’s been a very long time coming! Supply should start from late May to early June 2022. Its priced at $59.95 and includes the first 25 reagents.
