Exaqua is a new company specializing in the analysis of aquarium water using a combination of chemistry and technology in the form of their Exaqua Pro photometers. Exaqua appears to be targeting both fresh and saltwater aquariums with their Exaqua Pro photometers which can cover a wide range of important chemical parameters.
The Exaqua Pro photometer is compatible with reagents to measure Alkalinity, Total hardness GH, a wide range of pH, Nitrate, Nitrite, Total ammonia,
The Exaqua works like any other photometer to measure color changes in specific wavelengths and there’s actually two models, the Exaqua Pro 3 which measures in three wavelengths of light – 470, 520 and 610 nm – and the Exaqua Pro 6 that takes measurements in six wavelengths. We presume that the Exaqua Pro 6 with double the sensitivity to light will be more accurate or sensitive but this is not clear in their copious documentation.
We can’t find any mention of the company’s new product catalog other than their own website so your guess about pricing for the photometer and reagents is as good as ours. However we hold some hope that the Polish-based company will be able to offer their very sharp looking photometers and required reagents for a reasonable price, if you’re in Nuremberg for InterZoo 2022 be sure and ask them for us, and thanks toAquarium Partnersfor the tip.
