For a high end light targeted at nano tanks, besideslooking goodandbeing brightE-lite确定不做uch else. There is no built in timer, there is no dimming feature, there is no separate circuit for turning on the blue and white LEDs separately and if you want some night viewing action you have to buy a totally separate moonlight accessory. Clearly all of these features could be provided at a modest additional cost which most buyers would gladly pay to get the most out of such a high end light. Seriously though, you can’t even turn on the blue and white LEDs separately! Why would Elos build a $900 LED light fixture but then remove all functionality besides turning the light on and off? With it’s strong emphasis on LED control, we believe that the LED patent currently held by Orbitec could be the reason that the E-lite is artifically crippled. Manufacturers have told us that they still plan to design and release LED fixtures but they are taking great care to not infringe on the LED patent. Perhaps the future of aquarium LED fixtures is not completely jeopardized but at this rate, we can look forward to some pretty boring aquarium LED lights.
