While we were in Orlando for MACNA last week we made it a point to stop by the premier LFS,World Wide Corals. Not only is WWC loaded up with a huge diversity of corals, they are also the proud owners of Casper the white tang. Casper is such a shy little fellow that he barely made it out of his hiding spots to come out for the camera but through patience and perseverance we did manage a couple shots which show how unique this white-colored yellow tang is.
One feature which was impossible to see in the tank but which showed up well in the photographs is the small amount of yellow coloration that Casper has at the base of his pectoral fins, and a little bit at the base of his dorsal fin. We hope that these bits of coloration develop as little as possible but if they do, let’s hope they grow into brilliant, discrete patches which only add to the uniqueness of the white tang. World Wide Corals is not selling Casper for any price, but if you are in the neighborhood they’ll at least let you look at him for free.
