Micropump manufacturerKamoerhas added a new auto top-off device to its aquarium product portfolio. Named ATO One, this simple device uses a level sensor and a tiny powerhead to deliver fresh water from a reservoir when the main pump chamber level drops due to evaporation.
Like previous Kamoer ATOs, it has a magnet mounting sensor and both audible and visual indicators to tell you if the pump chamber level is where it should be. Unlike previous models however the One then utilizes another sensor – this time aconventional float switch– to provide additional protection if the water level reaches a dangerously high level over the sensor, cutting the top-off feed before it can cause any flooding.
A further third sensor can also be used in the top-off chamber itself to prevent the feed pump from running dry and getting damaged, although that is supplied separately. ATO One is conventional in its make-up and represents a mid-priced ATO from a well-known brand.
LargeChinese manufacturersoften offer many similar iterations of products to appeal to varying international export markets and as well as the ATO One we see in Europe, the Kamoer website also shows off an ATO One 2, and this time the second emergency flood sensor is again optical. The same tiny smart controller is used throughout.
